Pokemon Watch Order

Pokemon is known by many the world over, regardless of whether you played the video games, trading card game, or neither. It is also one that many older fans look back to with longing nostalgia.

1. Pokemon (1997-2002)

A young boy named Satoshi embarks on a journey to become a “Pokémon Master” with his first Pokémon, Pikachu. Joining him on his travels are Takeshi, a girl-obsessed Rock Pokemon Trainer, and Kasumi, a tomboyish Water Pokémon Trainer who may have a crush on him.

Satoshi and Co. end up traveling through various regions, including Kanto, the Orange Islands, and Johto, and then enter the Pokémon League competitions there.

Along the way, they run into many confrontations with Musashi, Kojirou, and Nyarth, a trio of Pokémon thieves who are apart of an evil organization called “Team Rocket”. But everytime Team Rocket try to do their evil deeds, they fail thanks to Satoshi and his Pokémon.

2. Pokémon Advanced (2002-2006)

After participating in the Johto League, Ash decides to begin anew in yet another journey; this time by himself and Pikachu, in the land of Hoenn.

Though he isn’t alone for long, as 10-year-old May (whom dislikes Pokemon, but just wants to come along to see the world) travels with him after Pikachu destroys her bicycle.

Ash also meets up with his old companion, Brock, and May’s younger brother, Max. Together, they travel along in Hoenn, battling Gym Leaders, entering Contests, and other events on the way to the Hoenn League.

3. Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl (2006-2010)

After defeating Brandon and declining the offer to be a Frontier Brain, Ash sets off to travel through the far away land of Sinnoh. Once he gets there, he meets up with Hikari, a local trainer from the region, and they decide to travel together.

As with both the Advanced Generation and Diamond & Pearl series before it, the Best Wishes! series begins with only Ash Ketchum, headed off to the Unova region, located far away from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh, with his Pikachu.

After he meets up with the new trainer and rival Trip and the region’s Professor Juniper, he gains traveling companions in Iris, a girl from a town known for its Dragon Pokémon, and Cilan, Pokémon Connoisseur and the Grass Pokémon specialist of the three Straition City Gym Leaders.

Satoshi, Iris & Dent continue their travels through the Isshu region. After successfully winning his 8th Gym Badge against Homika in Tachiwaki City, Shirona invites everyone to stay at her villa in East Isshu, where old friend Hikari is also staying, and participate in the Pokemon World Tournament Junior Cup before Satoshi participates in the Unova League.

Team Rocket, meanwhile, initiate their final plan for the Isshu region-what is their purpose in their desire for the legendary Pokémon Meloetta?

6. Pokémon BW: Adventures in Unova (2013)

In this new series, Satoshi, Pikachu and friends start a new journey towards the “White Ruins.” There, they meet the young “N”, who can hear the voices from Pokémon’s hearts… The door of truth leading to an Utopia for Pokémon and humans now lies open!

Satoshi and Pikachu will travel to Miare City at the center of the Kalos region.

11. Pokemon Journeys: The Series (2019-2022)
