For those wondering why we didn’t see Fate/stay night in English before now, well, it had mature content! Because it was classified as eroge, or erotic game, it didn’t show up 20 years ago when it debuted on PCs in Japan in 2004.
Fate/stay night is a critically acclaimed game. It’s beloved. It’d have to be to inspire so many adaptations, tie-ins, and spin-offs. The Fifth Holy Grail War is a fascinating concept, the story is interesting, and the characters have genuine depth to them.
This visual novel is well-known for its cornucopia of bad endings. The routes detailed below will faithfully lead you to the “True” or “Good” endings of each route. Both the Prologue and Fate route have only one ending).
This guide will provide a spoiler-minimalized walkthrough for each of the three routes. During the story, if a choice does not directly affect the final outcome of the route, it’s notated as “Your Choice.”
The content of the game will vary based on what you choose, but so long as you follow the key choices, you will arrive at your chosen ending.
